Beating Recurrent Cough and Cold: Tips for Mommies

Mabuhay, Super Mommies!  The aroma of freshly made adobo might be in the air, but so are those nasty cold germs, especially during the wet season. Fear not! We've got you covered with tips hotter than your sinigang to help your little ones beat the sniffles and sneezes.

  1. Hydration Station, mga Inay! Between the vibrant fiestas and the sun-kissed beaches, the Philippines can sometimes make our kiddos thirsty! Regular water intake can keep mucus thin, making it easier to expel. So, keep those cute tumblers filled and remind them to sip often!

  2. Calamansi to the Rescue! This tiny citrus wonder is not just for sawsawan! Fresh calamansi juice, packed with vitamin C, can boost immunity. Make it fun by letting your kids squeeze their own juice (with supervision, of course). Plus, it's a natural and delicious way to ward off the cold blues.

  3. Play, but Stay Away (during peak cold season)! It's essential for our kids to mingle and play, but during the height of the cold season, maybe swap that crowded indoor play area for a sunny day out at Rizal Park or a breezy afternoon in Tagaytay.

  4. Warm Hug in a Mug: Remember how Lola's chicken tinola or arroz caldo always seemed to do the trick? There's wisdom in that! Warm, broth-based foods are comforting and help in clearing congestion. It's time to share that magical cure with the next generation.

  5. Rest is Best: Kids are little bundles of energy. But ensuring they get adequate sleep is crucial. Not only does it recharge them, but it also strengthens their immune response. So, tuck them in, read a bedtime Filipino folklore story, and let them dream away to health.
